Today I would like to bring our attention to what we do with our brokenness…
The art of repairing
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of fixing broken pottery with lacquer resin dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, orplatinum a method similar to the maki-e technique. As a philosophy it speaks to breakage and repair becoming part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
A friend of mine shared: \”How wonderful it is to reflect that on human mind and soul. We get cracked, diced, broken and then rebuilt. Over and over. Its up to us to choose to fill the Cracks with Gold and become more valuable for our selves, friends and families. Or choose to stay broken not capable of helping anyone including oneself.\”
When I got divorced…
When we go through a breakup or a divorce it\’s so easy to put all the blame on the other person. See all their faults, mistakes and flaws. But it takes 2 people to tango. Being aware of your contribution in the dynamic, looking into the mirror and facing your own demons are essential for your healing. If you are a conscious person, you are aware of all the layers in a relationships, healing your inner child, addressing your patterns and wounds, grasping the opportunity for spiritual growth.
Beyond the pain of the separation, the agony of seeing your dreams crumble, there is a beautiful opportunity to move away from victimhood, to reclaim your power, to heal, to open your heart and find compassion and forgiveness. The key is not to close up to love. To keep your heart open. Because what\’s life without the beautiful force of love? My marriage brought so many blessings in my life. My divorce too. I am grateful for my journey. Still learning. Still savoring. Still growing.
Wise words from Deepak Chopra
\”This leads us to the second component of the Law of Least Effort: responsibility. What does responsibility mean? Responsibility means not blaming anyone or anything for your situation, including yourself. Having accepted this circumstance, this event, this problem, responsibility then means the ability to have a creative response to the situation as it is now. All problems contain the seeds of opportunity, and this awareness allows you to take the moment and transform it to a better situation or thing. Once you do this, every so-called upsetting situation will become an opportunity for the creation of something new and beautiful, and every so-called tormentor or tyrant will become your teacher. Reality is an interpretation. And if you choose to interpret reality in this way, you will have many teachers around you, and many opportunities to evolve.\” Deepak Chopra, The 7 Laws of Success
